Services we offer

Assessments
At North Coast Nurture Center, we offer autism and developmental evaluations by appointment. Assessments are conducted using standardized tools, including the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System, Third Edition (ABAS-3), the Vineland-3, and the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, Fourth Edition (Bayley-4).
Families interested in an evaluation may self-refer through the Redwood Coast Regional Center.

Incredible Years
A weekly, evidence-based group facilitated by Dr. Kissinger’s staff at our McKinleyville clinic, designed to support children’s pre-academic, social, emotional, and language development.
Parents will learn practical strategies to engage in their child’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral growth through intentional positive attention, coaching techniques, praise, and guided imaginative and creative play.
The group also provides tools to strengthen positive family relationships and increase understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Floortime Therapy
A relationship-based therapy for children and their caregivers that helps expand a child’s circles of communication while building on their individual strengths and interests.
Through playful, engaging interactions centered around activities the child enjoys, the Floortime approach supports the development of connection, communication, emotional growth, and thinking skills.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Floortime provides a comprehensive framework for understanding and supporting children with autism spectrum and related developmental differences.

Child/Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)
An intervention model designed for children who have experienced traumatic events or are facing emotional, attachment, behavioral, or mental health challenges.
Grounded in attachment theory, CPP also integrates psychodynamic, developmental, trauma-informed, social learning, and cognitive behavioral principles. The treatment focuses on strengthening the relationship between the child and caregiver as a foundation for supporting the child’s emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and social development.

Sleep Training

Sleep difficulties can intensify behavioral challenges, interfere with learning, and reduce overall quality of life. This therapy is designed to improve sleep habits by helping parents use gradual, supportive strategies to encourage their child to fall asleep and sleep more independently.

Infant Massage
A baby-centered intervention that helps caregivers better understand their baby’s cues while fostering positive, nurturing relationships. The approach supports caregivers in developing safe, predictable, and responsive ways of communicating with their child, promoting relaxation and healthy interactions.
In addition to strengthening social-emotional connection, infant massage teaches caregivers how to use safe, supportive touch with their baby. By learning about their baby’s unique sensory preferences and temperament, caregivers can build confidence and feel more connected in their interactions with their child.
